Amazing Spider-Man
Amazing Spider-Man
In an effort to bring Spider-Man back to prominence, writer Dan Slott and artist Humberto Ramos gave the Wall Crawler a makeover in a new Amazing Spider-Man initiative titled “Big Time." This wasn’t a reboot as much as it was a new direction for Spidey and his supporting cast, placing Peter Parker at a new dream job, giving him a new romantic interest in the form of Carlie Cooper, and bringing back some of Stan Lee's soap opera story elements.
From battles with the new Hobgoblin to a great crossover event in Spider Island, 2011 proved to be a major shot in the arm for Amazing Spider-Man. Gone were the overly-serious storylines and publicity stunt plots, and in their place were stories that brought humor and adventure back to the book. Also, Humberto Ramos just kills it every issue with a creative style and non-stop energy.
